Sketches

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are a couple of them.

(Probably the first in a series or something)

Secret Skull

Some character sketches I did a while ago for Mystery Society, of Steve Niles and Chuck BB's character Secret Skull.

It's very very rare in comics to have a heroine who isn't supposed to be even a little bit sexy. Even badass chicks like Tank Girl are thin, white and pretty; and Big Bertha, the fat superhero, is of course a supermodel by day. Secret Skull is a bony ghoul in a skull mask, who everyone thinks is a man. I love her.

NORTHLANDERS

I'm going to be doing a one-shot for Vertigo's awesome Viking series by Brian Wood (#29). I haven't started yet, but here's the beautiful cover by Massimo Carnevale. Stunning painting!

IFX stuff

Over the past few months I've been doing little tutorials for ImagineFX Magazine's Artist Q&A section. It makes me feel pretty important!

I realized I've never posted anything from that, so here are a few assorted items. Each one demonstrates the answer to a reader's question, although you wouldn't know it. You'll have to buy the magazine if you hope to learn anything from these.

Update

Site's back up and running, as much as it ever was (the link to my gallery is back). I learned html in high school and haven't learned anything since, so let me know if something seems like it doesn't work, or looks weird.

The image above is pieced together from a comic strip I'm working on in my "spare time!"

Acts of Violence

Cover for a crime comic anthology put together by Ed Brisson and co. I love straight-up crime fiction and these four short stories are top notch!

Wraparound:

PS: I'm into their sharp new suits, but I hope Lupo and Bernard grow their beards back on Law & Order.
